i have 2 financial planner.
one is A, an ex colleague, another is B, a planner i got to know from a cold call some 3 weeks ago. the latter turned out to be somebody i knew very briefly 10 years ago. how cool is that. he doesn’t remember me though. haha.
so i signed up for a plan with B. A was abit surprised and asked me to cancel the plan i signed up for and go for another better plan instead.
it ended with A and B arguing and B wanting to talk to A’s manager last sunday.
i ended up sticking with B’s plan.
hmm.
we learn something new everyday
i was at the suntec convetion centre today and came across a networking session called “the 17th cochrane colloquium”.
there were many small numbered table with groups of people gathering around them. each table had a different topic and one basically will go to the table that is of interest to you.
me: what’s that?
james: don’t know, interesting networking session i guess.
me: what’s cochrane colloquium?
james: don’t know.
me: what’s cochrane?
james: don’t know.
me: what’s colloquium?
james: don’t know
me: ………..

the cochrane collaboration: a global network of volunteers dedicated who provides up to date information about the effects of health care.

post surgery activity
dave: i am going for my surgery next monday. they want to hospitalise me for 5 days! i said no way! i would be too bored!
me: why bored! 5 days of rest….can watch tv, read and chill.
dave: unless you come visit me and kill my pain with something else…
me: does hospital has wifi!?

someone at work asked me this question today. in fact, 3 ladies asked me this today because they think the GA and me are very compatible. of course, me and the GA laughed our heads off at the remark.
i was reminded of how i used to pause when asked this question because answering questions of this nature properly is just not in my nature.
and my standard answer to this question became….
“no, i am very single but emotionally, mentally and physically unavailable.”
answered a question, silenced people by being so standoffish and turned away unwanted attention.
one sentence kill 3 birds.

around the table
i am still clearing my table (i.e. shifting from one place to another) and i found a credit card statement.
i hate being charged for annual fee. why don’t they just auto waive it since it will be wavied anyway? i guess you need to put in some effort to enjoy the freebies.
so i called (i love anyting that is available for 24 hours – i still remember making my health check up appointment at 12.15am) the bank and go through the usual routine of requesting for a waiver.
i was actually tempted to cancel it but i didn’t. i wanted to cancel it because i wanted to feel the thrill of cutting a card into 2. hahaha.
there is a new magazine out in town and it is called “CHIC“. it was formally known as project smitten, the first magazine i actually subscribed to because i love it so much. project smitten stopped and i had nothing else to read until CHIC came along. i love it, as much as i love timeout singapore and i-s magazine.
i scored only 4 As in poly: – corporate taxation, personal taxation, management accounting 1 and interpersonal communication.
i can’t say much for the 1st 3 but interpersonal communication has always been memorable for me. i spent most of my time in class looking at how pretty the clouds are and yet i had the mental capacity to be fully engaged in class. i remembered being called out to role play a scene in class with willynn. we had no clue what to do and we just role played infront of anyone spontaneously. it was perfect chemistry and it was the best romle play for the day. it’s always amazing to be best when you didn’t put in any effort for it.
it was the only subject in poly that interest me and i would participate actively for anything in this class. it is no wonder i got full marks for class participation for this class.
another thing i remembered with pride was a presentation on human genome i did for oral communication class. i’m not that great with presentation but i guess the content and the tone of my voice was great that day. even the teacher was impressed. and i also recalled the tongue twister i was asked to read infront of class – my first and only attempt was flawless.
surprisingly, i was terrible with written communication. something about business english just irks me. my words are often too colour and too alive. no matter how hard i tried to be monochrome and dead, i remain too unprofessional in my writings.
of course, it improved after i started working but it didn’t happen naturally. being dull is something i need to work hard on.
hahaha.
oh, guess what? i still have july 2004 pay slip with me.
scented dried flowers
i bought a bag of scented dried flowers from ikea 3 weeks ago. i was going to use it as part of a decorative gift for project farewell but i realised too much flowers can be a little too excessive so the flowers is now sitting in my room and i have no idea what to do with it.
maybe i should use my box and dump all my scrapbook materials into it and throw the flowers in? the person who gets a scrapbook from me will have everything scented.
ok, now i can see my floor.

i gave away 3 bags worth of clothes during spring cleaning in January. i don’t have money to build up my wardrobe so don’t ask why i keep wearing the same clothes!
